Ahmed Elsewedy serves as the President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric Co. S.A.E. Since 1986, he has spearheaded the growth of the family business, managing the first private cable factory in Egypt, the Arab Cables Company, and transforming it into a global leader in energy solutions. With over thirty production facilities in sixteen countries, the company employs more than 14,000 workers, technicians, and engineers. It exports a wide range of high-quality and safe products to over 110 countries worldwide, including Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East. During his tenure, Ahmed Elsewedy has increased the business value nearly a hundred. Elsewedy Electric S.A.E. is listed on the Cairo Stock Exchange with assets of approximately $1.5 billion as of 2016. Today, Elsewedy Electric manufactures cables, transformers, insulators, meters, and constructions power generation, transmission, and distribution networks, in addition to managing solar power plants and wind farm components. Ahmed Elsewedy holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, obtained in 1986, and has nearly thirty years of experience in the electrical and energy industries. He is the Chairman of the Egyptian-Chinese, Ethiopian, Zambian, Iraqi, and Lebanese Business Councils, and a member of the Business Councils for South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, Kenya, Austria, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. He also plays an active role as a member of the American and French Chambers of Commerce, serves on the board of the German and American Chambers of Commerce, is a member of the Egyptian Business Association, and is the Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Food Bank and the Elsewedy Foundation, among many other business and non-profit organizations.
